* Picker Institute Europe launches Frequent Feedback
Picker Institute Europe launches Frequent Feedback service using technology provided exclusively by Fr3dom Health. Frequent Feedback provides ongoing patient experience measures using the Fr3dom Health handheld solution as well as a new online reporting solution for real time analysis, also provided by Fr3dom Health.

* Department of Health GP pilot
Along with the Central Office of Information (COI), the Department of Health ran a six month pilot programme in GP practices in England from October 2009 to March 2010, in 22 GP practices across the country to find out whether real-time patient feedback could help GP practices to better understand patients’ views on services, identify opportunities for improvement and evaluate whether changes made in response are effective. Its objectives were to understand how effectively real-time feedback could help drive performance improvement in GP practice set-tings, and to identify the key learning from the GP practices. A mixture of three devices for collecting patient feedback (tablet PC, kiosk and desktop device – sup-plied by three different suppliers) was piloted across the 22 practices. The prac-tices varied in size, patient list, staffing levels, geography and demography.

* National Information Pathways
The National Cancer Action Team (NCAT) is a national team that reports to the National Cancer Director. Its role is to support the NHS and facilitate the imple-mentation of the NHS Cancer Plan. It works closely alongside the Cancer Policy Team in the Department of Health and the Cancer services Collaborative “Improvement Partnership”. The CAT also works closely with the SHAs and can-cer networks.

* Southampton University Trust Hospital pilot Frequent
Feedback with Fr3dom Health and Picker Institute

Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust (the Trust) is a complex teaching hospital with over 60 wards. Following joint exploration with Fr3dm Health, The Picker Institute and key stakeholders Julie Dawes and Pam Sorensen, it was agreed to pilot the capture of patient views using ward2board™ from Fr3dom Health, a combination service of hardware, software and consultancy together with the Picker Institute.
